I've been contemplating a few things over the past month. And unfortunately, I will not be "spilling the beans" about it ALL here on my blog. I will only go into a few of them. First off - family! We had the wonderful opportunity to join Hannah to our family group! Hannah and my brother, John, were married in November after they spent 40 days traveling together across the 48 inland United States! And I'm guessing that if anyone can spend that much time traveling together in a car without killing each other - then they will have a splendid life together!!! I'm so happy for them. With both having a background in education (Hannah being a teacher, and my brother finishing his teaching degree), they will be able to grow together as a family and share so many things together! It's fun watching them together and that Hannah holds her own quite well in our family, because let me tell you what - we can be a big handful when we all get together!!! For their wedding, most of us siblings were able to attend - and for the one who lives in Florida and wasn't able to fly out on the short notice - we hooked up the computer and she was able to join us via SKYPE!!! Was totally awesome - and we even got a sibling picture with her!!!! Lol - our family is so creative.
Next subject: for any of those who remember... when I first bought my house, the only two walls that were painted anything other than the initial paint - were the walls in one of the downstair front rooms. One was a deep red and the other wall parallel to it was black... Why?! Good question... Anyway - for the past several months, I was sceaming behind my husbands back trying to decide on a the color to change that room. He kept bringing home sample colors and such because he was determined that I had NO decorative sense other than putting holes in the walls for pictures! Seriously - that is exactly what he told one of his sisters... :) Anyway - so a week or so ago, he wouldn't leave for work early enough!!! Because he was going to be working really late that evening, he wanted to spend the morning with LJ and I - so instead of leaving for work at 7 am - he didn't end up leaving until after 9 am! But as soon as I heard his truck driving away, I ran upstairs - put on the painting clothes - and we went to work! I should have gotten a better "before" picture - but I didn't really think about it too much - so oh well.
My little helper was quite pleased when the first wall was done...
I had also decided to take the couch we had upstairs and bring it downstairs for this room. And move the big bean bags upstairs for proper child entertainment!
For my birthday this year, Matt (even though I know he had been talking for almost a year how cool it would be to get one of these) decided to get me this timeline of the Book Of Mormon - so it went perfectly on this wall!
And of course, we had to go ahead and set up our little Christmas tree! Here is our new sitting room!!! And Matt loved it! He was quite surprised and quite pleased too!
It may only be one room - but at least my husband realizes that I do have plans for our house - I just don't JUMP into them and shared with him my ideas/plans for a few of our other rooms throughout the house. Guess the decorative aspect of me is out of the bag! Tee hee hee...
